About Downscale

Downscale is a clinician-led, evidence-based, patient-centred Australian weight management telehealth service, with future in-clinic plans. We also operate Downscale Derm (telehealth dermatology) and are launching Man Clinic (men's health). This is a selective, quality-focused clinic — not a high-volume “script factory.” We care for approximately 3,000 patients and are typically booked a week ahead. Patients choose their clinician, and continuity and trust are prioritised over throughput.

Who We're Looking For

We're actively growing and are selective about who we bring on board. We seek generalist clinicians with whole-person experience from two main groups:

• Experienced NPs: Two or more years in weight management or longitudinal care (e.g., general practice). You must value patient-centred, evidence-based care and be comfortable managing complexity — chronic disease, mental health, hormones, behaviour change. Teamwork, openness to new models, and comfort with technology (including AI scribes) are essential.
• Newly Graduated NPs: Willing to accept mentorship, training, and guidance in weight management and business development. We invest in clinicians who align with our model and want to grow.

The Arrangement

• Contractor model: Flexible contractor arrangement (not employment), no pressure on hours. Financial model is a 75/25 split (75% to clinician) to cover systems and support.
• Non-compete clause: There is a non-compete and restraint of trade clause in the contract — no working across similar clinics during the contract and for a period of one month following termination.
• Technology & AI: We currently use Halaxy and TeleCheck, and will be moving to custom-built software within 12 months. We have an AI clinical scribe called TeleScribe, built by us — available to Downscale contractors at a heavily discounted rate.
• Patient portal: Contractors have access to our full patient portal for resources, metrics tracking, and streamlined patient management.

Alignment and fit are paramount. We are building intentionally and investing in clinicians who share our values. Clear documentation and patient-centred care are expected. Clinicians manage a portion of their admin within the 75/25 structure. IT and AI innovation are key focuses.
